-Presenting the Globesity Festival Fashion Show-

-Tuesday, October 23rd at 8:00pm-

The Globesity Festival is bringing in a new class of clothing lines and designers for an eco-friendly, sustainable fashion show that won’t drain the Earth’s resources but is sure to keep you on your toes. This fashion show is being produced to demonstrate to the public eye that there is more to fashion than leather pieces, box stores, and sweatshop produced, dime a dozen pieces. We have pulled together three of New York City’s most fashion forward lines for an energy filled evening. Please see below for more information on each of the lines featured in the show.

The Moral Fervor clothing line was conceived in 1998 by roommates, Emily Santamore and Melissa Sack at the Tyler school of Art in Philadelphia.

These two young designers were seeking out a way to intertwine environmentalism and fashion and from these ideals the Moral Fervor clothing line was born. This line of clothing is the perfect mixture of grace and socially conscious ideas set to change the way people think about fashion. The fall 2007 line, which will be shown in the fashion show at the Globesity Festival, incorporates an array of eco-chic textiles including bamboo, and organic fleece. This collection was inspired by the four Elements: Earth, Water, Fire and Air. These elements surround us, constitute and perpetuate life on earth. The natural balance of earth, water, fire & air are what inspired Emily and Melissa to create the fall collection. Life is a delicate balance of these natural forces. The elements are incorporated into the color, cut and style of each garment.

Emily and Melissa’s pioneering approach to fashion married with technology has put Moral Fervor at the forefront of the ever pressing green movement and at the head of their industry. Emily and Melissa will be showing Moral Fervor’s fall line at the Globesity Festival’s first annual fashion show.

Bothered by a lot of practices in the industry including unfair trading and the environmental impact of some fashion lines, Raina Blyer wanted to work with a company she could stand behind. In 2005 the Ryann clothing line was founded in the Lower East Side of New York City.

Raina’s vision was to seamlessly connect the artistic creativity of fashion and the importance of environmental preservation. All Ryann clothing is made of organic and recycled fabric. Organic and Recycled fabric means that no poisonous pesticide and chemical fertilizers were used in the growing of cotton, soy bamboo or hemp. Each piece in the Ryann collection has some “eco-property” in the form of hemp, recycled polyester and soy cotton blends.

The production for the Ryann line is done solely in New York. Raina prides herself by using minimal packaging, recycled paper and no hangers to keep her level of consumption and environmental impact on the earth low. Raina also packs all of Ryann clothing in corn plastic bags. Raina and the Ryann line are a real testimate to where fashion is headed in the future and a release of impact on the planets resources.

Exciting, honest, organically made beautiful fashion that is friendly to the body and planet, *Earth Speaks Organic Fashion* has combined modern technology with materials that foster a health environment for humanity through the use of renewable resources. Earth Speaks Organic Fashion is based out of Brooklyn, NY and designed by *Bi Li*. This *Organic Fashion* line has been around for more than a decade and challenges the worlds conventional thoughts of fashion with it’s commitment to organic fabrics and the use of natural stone buttons in the designs.

Each of the impeccably designed pieces in the Earth Speaks Organic Fashion line is based on our concerns for the earth and its future. Bi’s clothes were produced locally in a sweatshop-free environment and in order to keep the earths natural resources in balance. Earth Speaks Organic Fashion uses eco-friendly farming methods and renewable resources such as hemp and silk in our designs. In utilizing these resource friendly methods Bi avoids putting chemicals into the soil and polluting the air and water. In Addition, three percent of Earth Speaks Organic Fashion’s profits are donated to organizations that promote peace, the environment and human rights in order to give back. Earth Speaks Organic Fashion will show pieces from her fall and spring line in the Globesity Festival fashion show.
